New Significant Seven Inductees


I think that there are two major superheroes that need to be added to Mike Benton’s Significant 7.  The two obvious choices that come to my mind is Iron Man and Wolverine.  They both play huge roles in X-men and in the Avengers Movies and comics and are both also main hits in their own movies today.

Even though Iron Man doesn’t have super powers like many of the other Avengers or just comic superheroes in general, he is still a genius that uses his mind to create a suit to protect man kind and he is the leader of the Avengers.  Iron Man contains multiple qualities from one man of the Significant 7.  In many regards you can compare him to Batman.  He was the mastermind basically behind the Justice League, just like Iron Man was the one to start up the Avengers.  Batman is able to engineer his weapons and vehicles just like Iron man is able to do with his suit.  For Iron Man to be so similar to Batman it is hard to argue that Batman should be in the Significant 7 and not Iron Man.   The Avengers look to him for guidance and leadership so with him being a leader and having so many qualities of Batman I believe he should be added to the Significant 7.

I also believe that Wolverine should be in the significant 7 because like Iron Man and Batman he is considered the main guy/ leader of the X-men and most popular.  His popularity is kind of hard to argue considering how many movies have been made with Hugh Jackman as the wolverine.  It is obvious he is a fan favorite and I think that is a big reason for why he should be added to the Significant 7 list.

             Friendships         Friendships have contributed greatly to many of my accomplishments in my life this far and will continue to in the future.   They have helped me in many areas of my life.   They have helped me with my athletics and schooling.   Friendships helped to motivate me to practice and push on and were there to cheer me on at many of my games.   If it wasn’t for my friends I wouldn’t have been the successful athlete that I was in high school or in college.   Two friends in particular helped me to become a better baseball player.   They were always wanting to play baseball and would push me to practice/play with them.   This helped me tremendously and is partially why I am playing baseball in college now.   They also helped me in my schooling.   They would help me with my papers and spell check my papers.   One friend of mine, ...

Freedom vs. Safety I honestly don’t really know what to think about Snowden’s defiance.   For the fact that I see both sides of the argument.   For instance, I believe that it is wrong to hack our government and release government secrets, or what could possibly be dangerous to our national security.   So for that reason I do not agree with Snowden’s defiance and am against him doing that.             On the other hand what we have found out from that is concerning too.   The fact that the government can track our phone calls and duration kind of concerned me.   After finding out that the NSA goes further than that and goes through our personal emails and phones is scary.   I don’t like that they have the power to do that.   What also makes me mad is that they are going through all our private stuff but how many terrorist acts/ attacks have been stopped by all this? 1, and it was a cab dr...
